ADDY Gold

It was a privilege to serve as producer on this project, but the real credit goes to Anthony Frederick.Congratulations to Anthony Frederick, a very talented young filmmaker, on winning gold in the Fort Wayne regional ADDY Awards student competition with his documentary for the Harmony Initiative.

It was a privilege to serve as producer on this project, but the real credit goes to Anthony’s remarkable vision and creative giftedness.  This was only one of several ADDYs he earned this year. It certainly won’t be his last.

I am very pleased that after concluding his final semester of college in Los Angeles, Anthony plans to return to the greater Fort Wayne area to launch his career. I hope we can collaborate again soon.

The emotional power of video

Good communicators emphasize the power of storytelling, and nothing can tell a story more powerfully than video.  It’s an important medium for every public relations professional.

I recently had an opportunity to work with an amazingly talented filmmaker, Anthony Frederick, to produce a short documentary for the Harmony Initiative. Its goal was to show the progress being made by a rural community to become more welcoming to ethnic minorities. (At the time, Huntington County was 97.5% white.) The mayor was so moved by this story that he asked that the film be added to the city’s official website.

Take a moment to watch. It is best at full screen. Let me know what you think.
